Weiter auf der Suche nach exklusiven Video-Inhalten für seinen Musik-Streamingdienst Apple Music und wohl auch das Apple TV hat Apple nach Informationen von Billboard nun die Rechte an der Dokumentation "Clive Davis: The Soundtrack of Our Lives" erworben. Diese feiert derzeit auf dem Tribeca Film Festival in der Radio City Music Hall in New York Premiere. Wie der Name schon vermuten lässt, basiert der Film auf der Autobiographie des Musikproduzenten Clive Davis, die im Jahr 2013 in Buchform erschienen war. Davis war von 1967 bis 1975 Präsident von Columbia Records, Gründer von Arista Records und J Records und schließlich auch CEO und Vorsitzender der RCA Music Group. Derzeit ist er Chief Creative Officer bei Sony Music Entertainment. Während seiner Karriere hat Davis mit vielen weltbekannten Künstlern, wie beispielsweise Whitney Houston, Barry Manilow, Aretha Franklin, Alicia Keys, Santana, Aerosmith, Bruce Springsteen, and gearbeitet und ihren Weg teilweise maßgeblich geprägt. In einem Statement gab Davis zu Protokoll:

"Apple is a global innovator that has revolutionized the distribution of music. It is a touching honor to share the music and unique stories that have shaped my career with millions of Apple Music subscribers around the world. I am overjoyed to work with them to continue this incredible journey!"

Apple hat sich bislang nicht zu den Plänen geäußert, wann man "Clive Davis: The Soundtrack of Our Lives" auf Apple Music verfügbar machen oder ob man den Film auch in die Kinos bringen wird.
