Apple hat seine WLAN-Produkte, zu denen die AirPort-Stationen und die Time Capsule Netzwerkspeicher für Time Machine Backups gehörten, zwar inzwischen eingestellt, dennoch ist in der vergangenen Nacht ein wenig überraschend noch einmal eine Sicherheitsaktualisierung in Form eines Softwareupdates erschienen. Das AirPort Base Station Firmware Update 7.9.1 richtet sich dabei an die Modelle AirPort Extreme und AirPort Time Capsule Basisstation mit Unterstützung für den WLAN-Standard 802.11ac. Dem zugehörigen Support-Dokument zufolge behebt Apple mit dem Update eine Reihe von Sicherheitslücken bei den angesprochenen Modellen. Ein Download ist demnach allen Besitzern wärmstens empfohlen.
