Die Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) hat bekanntgegeben, dass man neuerdings auch Apple als Platinum Partner mit an Bord habe. Apples Senior Engineering Manager Tom Doron wird zudem künftig dem CNCF Governing Board angehören. Damit gesellt sich das Unternehmen zu 87 weiteren Schwergewichten aus dem Silicon Valley, darunter Spotify, Atlassian, eBay, Intuit, Reddit, Shopify, Squarespace, Walmart und viele weitere. Die CNCF hält monatliche Meetings mit diesen Unternehmen ab, um Empfehlungen gegenüber dem Governing Board und dem Technical Oversight Committee zur Weiterentwicklung von Cloud-Technologien auszusprechen. Cloud Native Computing Foundation CTO Chris Aniszczyk zeigt sich hoch erfreut, dass nun auch Apple der Gruppe angehört:

We're thrilled to have the support of Apple, and look forward to the future contributions to the broader cloud native project community."

Die CNCF kümmert sich unter anderem um die Pflege, Weiterentwicklung und Integration von Open Source Technologien und Deploymentsystemen wie Kubernetes oder Prometheus im Bereich des Cloud-Computing.
