Review: Pitaka MagEZ Digital Travel Kit Carbon Wallet

Der eine oder andere mag mitbekommen haben, dass ich vor der Corona-Pandemie durchaus öfter auf Reisen war. Dementsprechend habe ich ein natürliches Interesse an Gadgets, die sich auch speziell für unterwegs eignen. Wenn diese Gadgets dann auch noch von einem meiner bevorzugten Zubehörhersteller, in diesem Falle Pitaka, stammen, ist die Sache für mich beinahe schon geritzt. Das Gadget von dem ich dabei spreche, ist das Pitaka Digital Travel Kit Carbon Wallet (€ 79,99 bei Amazon), welches sich innerhalb kürzester Zeit auch ohne die Möglichkeit zu Reisen zu einem meiner Must-Haves entwickelt hat. Im Wesentlichen handelt es sich bei dem Kit um eine kleine Box, in der man in erster Linie ein kurzes USB-C auf USB-C Kabel findet, welches sich dank verschiedener Aufsätze ruckzuck wahlweise in ein USB-C auf Lightning, USB-A oder Micro-USB Kabel verwandeln lässt.

Die Box besteht natürlich aus der für Pitaka typischen Aramidfaser, was sie nicht nur stabil, sondern auch äußerst leicht macht. Der Deckel wird mit drei Magneten in Position gehalten. Die elf verschiedenen Funktionen umfassen nicht nur die angesprochenen Kabel, sondern auch einen eingebauten SD-Kartenleser, einen Miniatur-USB-Stick mit 16 GB Speicherplatz und einen eingebauten SD-Kartenleser. Zudem findet man im Inneren noch ein SIM-Karten-Tool und jeweils einen Einschubplatz zum sicheren Transport einer microSD-Karte und einer nanoSIM-Karte. Im Deckel und in einem mitgelieferten Zwischenmodul finden zudem Visiten- oder Kreditkarten Platz.

A propos mitgeliefertes Zwischenmodul. Dieses wird ebenfalls magnetisch in Position gehalten und kann bei Bedarf auch weggelassen werden. Durch die magnetische Modularität des Gadgets können bei Bedarf auch noch weitere kompatible Module ergänzt werden. Der Clou ist aber tatsächlich die Kompaktheit und das geringe Gewicht des Wallet bei einer gleichzeitigen herausragenden Funktionalität. Prinzipiell hat man damit für unterwegs immer alles dabei was man braucht. Praktisch, wenngleich nicht unbedingt günstig. Aber Qualität hat nunmal seinen Preis.
