In verschiedenen Ländern und unter anderem auch in der EU steht Apple aktuell wegen seiner AppStore-Regeln unter Beschuss. So wird von den Kartellbehörden untersucht, ob die geltenden Regeln rechtens sind, Appls sich einen wettbewerbswidrigen Vorteil verschafft und andere Entwickler benachteiligt werden. Wohl auch getrieben von dieser Entwicklung hat Apple nun eine neue Pressemitteilung veröffentlicht, in der man, individualisiert für verschiedene europäische Länder, die Errungenschaften des AppStore in den jeweiligen Märkten herausstellt.

Schon in der Überschrift propagiert Apple, dass der AppStore in Deutschland eine Viertelmillion Arbeitsplätze unterstützt. Und die Tendenz ist weiter steigend. So bedeutet die neue Zahl einen Zugewinn von 8% gegenüber dem Vorjahr. Allein in Deutschland haben Drittanbieter von Apps laut Apple seit dem Start des AppStore über zwei Milliarden Euro an Einnahmen generiert. Auch hier gab es einen starken Anstieg im vergangenen Jahr in Höhe von 21% gegenüber 2019.

Auch das Anfang des Jahres gestartete App Store Small Business Program wird von Apple als Erfolgsmodell ins Feld geführt. So würden die um die Hälfte reduzierten Abgaben an Apple kleinen Entwicklern dabei helfen, "ihre digitalen Umsätze zu steigern und in die Zukunft ihres Unternehmens zu investieren, damit sie weiterhin die hochwertigen Apps entwickeln können", so Apple.
