Twitter macht kostenpflichtigen Abo-Dienst "Twitter Blue" offiziell

Kürzlich gab es bereits Vorabgerüchte zu einer kommenden kostenpflichtigen Variante von Twitter unter dem Namen "Twitter Blue", über die sich Poweruser verschiedene Zusatzfunktionen sichern können. So sollte es für die zahlenden Nutzer einen neuen Bereich namens "Collections" geben, in dem sie ihre Lieblings-Tweets ablegen können, um sie später schneller wiederzufinden. Darüber hinaus wird es auch eine "Undo Tweets" Funktion geben, mit der sich ein abgesetzter Tweet für kurze Zeit zurückrufen lässt, ehe er tatsächlich gepostet wird. Die Zeitspanne soll dabei durch den Nutzer konfigurierbar sein. Versehentlich angekündigt hat Twitter die Option samt Preis erst kürzlich als In-App Kauf für monatlich € 2,99 im AppStore.

Nun hat man die ganze Geschichte endgültig offiziell gemacht. So hat Twitter nun den Start von "Twitter Blue" verkündet, das in der Tat die oben genannten Funktionen plus noch die eine oder andere weitere Option mitbringen wird. Der Start erfolgt aktuell zunächst in Kanada und Australien und soll künftig auch schrittweise auf weitere Länder ausgeweitet werden. Aktuell umfassen die Zusatzfunktionen von "Twitter Blue":

  • Bookmark Folders: Zum Organisieren und Managen von gespeicherten Tweets.
  • Undo Tweet: Die Möglichkeit, Tweets noch einmal 30 Sekunden anzusehen und zu überarbeiten oder zu löschen bevor sie online gehen.
  • Reader Mode: Längere Threads werden in eine leichter zu lesende Ansicht umgewandelt.
  • Visual Customization: Möglichkeit zur Auswahl eines App-Icons und farbige Themes.
  • Dedicated Customer Support: Eigener Nutzersupport für "Twitter Blue".

Twitter kündigte bereits an, dass man sich das Feedback der Community anhören und darauf basierend weitere Funktionen einführen werde. Neuerungen für den kostenpflichtigen Dienst werden künftig auf dem Account @TwitterBlue bekanntgegeben.
