Bereits in den vergangenen Tagen hatte Apple seine "Best of 2021" Listen für den AppStore und für Podcasts veröffentlicht. Auch jeder Nutzer kann inzwischen über die Replay-Funktion von Apple Music auf seine individuellen Top Hits des Jahres zugreifen. Nun hat Apple auch den Jahresrückblick auf Apple Music veröffentlicht und die entsprechenden Jahres-Charts veröffentlicht. Dabei unterscheidet man zwischen länderspezifischen Listen, einer weltweiten Liste, den meistgelesenen Songtexten und den am häufigsten via Shazam gesuchten Liedern des Jahres. Den Titel "Top-Song des Jahres 2021" konnte sich in Deutschland Nathan Evans mit dem Song "Wellerman" sichern. Weltweit landete "Dynamite" von der südkoreanischen Boygroup BTS auf dem ersten Rang, vor Olivia Rodrigo mit "drivers license" und "positions" von Ariana Grande. Am häufigsten "geshazamt" wurde der Titel "Astronaut In The Ocean" von Masked Wolf.
