Im Oktober vergangenen Jahres hatte Apple die dritte Generation der AirPods auf den Markt gebracht, die in weiten Teilen das Design der AirPods Pro übernahmen, allerdings weiterhin auf die Pro-Funktionen, wie etwa die aktive Geräuschunterdrückung des teureren Bruders verzichten. Auch verfügen sie nicht über die Silikon-Aufsätze. Dafür unterstützen auch die Standard-AirPods künftig 3D-Audio. Zudem sind sie widerstandsfähig gegenüber Schweiß und Wasser. Die neue Akkulaufzeit beträgt 6 Stunden kontinuierliche Musikwiedergabe.
