Beide Modelle des iPad Pro sollen ab 2024 über OLED-Displays verfügen

Auch wenn sich der Zeitplan wohl ein wenig nach hinten verschoben hat, soll Apple nach wie vor planen, sowohl das kleinere als auch das größere Modell des iPad Pro in Zukunft mit einem OLED-Displays auszustatten. Dies vermeldet aktuell auch noch einmal der bekannte Display-Analyst Ross Young. Aktuell bietet Apple lediglich das 12,9" iPad Pro mit einem mini-LED Display an und letzten Meldungen zufolge soll es auch in diesem Jahr kein 11"-Modell mit dieser Technologie mehr geben. Sobald die OLED-Technologie allerdings soweit ist, sollen beide iPad Pro Modelle laut Young mit entsprechenden Panels ausgestattet werden. Produziert werden die Displays dann aller Voraussicht nach von LG und Samsung Display. Laut Young ist mit OLED-Displays im iPad Pro ab 2024 zu rechnen.

Einem parallelen Bericht von The Elec zufolge wird es sich bei den verwendeten OLED-Displays um LTPO Panels handeln, die ein breiteres Spektrum bei der ProMotion-Bildwiederholrate zwischen 10 Hz und 120 Hz bieten. Unter anderem ist dies auch bereits bei den Geräten der iPhone 13 Pro Familie der Fall. Beim iPad Pro, welches die ProMotion-Technologie seit 2017 nutzt, liegen die Raten aktuell zwischen 24 Hz und 120 Hz. Je niedriger die Rate dynamisch eingestellt werden kann, desto mehr Energie kann in bestimmten Situationen eingespart werden.
