Erste Umsetzung: Nutzer in Arizona können Ausweise und Führerscheine in der Wallet-App hinterlegen

Bis Ende März hat es im aktuellen Zyklus gedauert, ehe Apple sämtliche auf der letztjährigen WWDC angekündigte Funktionen für iOS 15 an den Start zu bringen. So kündigte man nun an, dass Arizona der erste US-Bundesstaat ist, in dem es möglich ist, seinen Ausweis und seinen Führerschein in der iOS-Wallet auf dem iPhone und der Apple Watch abzulegen. Nutzer aus Arizona können ab sofort über das Plus-Zeichen in der Wallet-App die beiden Dokumente einlesen und im Hintergrund verifizieren lassen. Zum Start können sie dann bereits an ausgewählten Sicherheitskontrollstellen und am Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport genutzt werden.

Während wir hierzulande aufgrund lokaler Gesetzgebungen wohl noch länger auf die Bereitstellung der Funktion warten müssen, kündigen sich in den USA mit Colorado, Hawaii, Mississippi und Ohio schon die nächsten Bundesstaaten an. Georgia, Connecticut, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Oklahoma und Utah sollen ebenfalls in nicht allzu ferner Zukunft folgen. Voraussetzung für die Nutzung ist ein iPhone 8 oder neuer bzw. einer Apple Watch Series 4 oder neuer, sowie mindestens iOS 15.4 bzw. watchOS 8.4. Sämtliche Details zu der Funktion hat Apple auf einer zugehörigen Webseite veröffentlicht.
