Erste iPads mit OLED-Display könnten 2024 erscheinen, MacBooks ein Jahr später folgen

Eigentlich war schon für das laufende Jahr mit den ersten iPads mit OLED-Display gerechnet worden. Probleme mit der Qualität bei den gefertigten Panels haben Apple dann jedoch offenbar dazu bewogen, diesen Plan zu verschieben. Nun berichten die Kollegen von The Elec, dass sich der chinesische Apple-Zulieferer BOE Technology darauf vorbereitet, Apple spätestens ab 2024 mit OLED-Displays für künftige iPads und MacBook-Modelle vorbereitet. Hierzu wird derzeit unter anderem eine "Gen 8.6 OLED Display Panel" Produktionsstraße in der B16 Fabrik in der Sichuan Provinz in China aufgebaut. Damit dürfte BOE auch in direkte Konkurrenz gegen Samsung Display und LG Display als weitere Zulieferer treten.

Dem neuen Bericht zufolge plant Apple die Einführung von iPad Pro Modellen mit OLED-Displays ab 2024. Abhängig vom Erfolg dieser Modelle könnten dann ein Jahr später auch MacBooks mit OLED-Displays folgen.
