Was nach den nicht wirklich überzeugenden Auftritten in der Gruppenphase kaum noch jemand für möglich gehalten hatte, ist nun doch wahr geworden: Deutschland steht nach einem tollen 3:2 gegen Portugal im Halbfinale der EURO 2008! Nach seiner roten Karte gegen Kroatien noch der Buhmann der Nation, war ausgerechnet Bastian Schweinsteiger, der mit einem Tor und den Vorlagen für Miro Klose und Michael Ballack der Matchwinner für Deutschland. Sollte es der Mannschaft gelingen, dieses Niveau zu halten, ist auch im Halbfinale (entweder gegen Kroatien oder die Türkei) alles drin! Also Daumen drücken! Das Finale wäre in Wien und mit deutscher Beteiligung für mich natürlich umso schöner.
