Technologie im Bürgerdienst: Louisville warnt per IFTTT bei schlechter Luftqualität

Die deutschen Behörden sind ja nicht gerade dafür bekannt, besonders innovativ und technologie-affin zu sein. Insofern werden wir vermutlich noch einige Jahre darauf warten müssen, dass man sich hierzulande ein Beispiel an der Stadt Louisville im US-Bundesstaat Kentucky nimmt. Auch wenn das dort gestartete Projekt wohl eher in der Kategorie "Proof of concept" einzuordnen ist, ist die dahinter steckende Idee ein schönes Beispiel dafür, wie sich auch Kommunen und Stadtverwaltungen aktueller Technologie-Trends bedienen können. In Louisville hat man einen eigenen Kanal auf der Automatisierungsplattform IFTTT eröffnet, auf dem man verschiedene Aktionen mit der aktuellen Luftqualität in der Stadt verbindet. So können über den Kanal unter anderem automatisch SMS versendet werden, wenn die Luftqualität bestimmte Grenzwerte über- oder unterschreitet. Alternativ lässt sich in diesem Fall auch das heimische System aus Hue-Lampen in eine bestimmte Farbe tauchen. Konfiguriert werden kann dies selbstverständlich über die IFTTT-App (kostenlos im AppStore).

Selbstverständlich kann man über Sinn und Zweck einer solchen Initiative streiten. Im Endeffekt ist es aber überaus begrüßenswert, wenn sich Behörden und Stadtverwaltungen immerhin mit den Möglichkeiten aktueller Technologien auseinandersetzen. (vie iFun)

Hast eh recht. Aber diese beiden Ereignisse (Luftverschmutzung und Programmierbarkeit von IoT Aktionen) stehen in keinem urs\344chlichen Zusammenhang. Die Entwickler von IFTTT haben nicht die Umwelt verschmutzt, um dann eine App zu entwickeln, die den Grad der Verschmutzung anzeigen kann.

Es ist einfach so, dass mit IFTTT etwas sehr N\374tzliches gemacht wurde, f\374r dessen Einsatzm\366glichkeiten es immer wieder neue Ideen gibt.

Du kannst Dich \374brigens auch \374ber IFTTT informieren lassen, wenn die ISS \374ber Dir ist. Das ist nett, aber n\374tzlicher ist es, wenn Du eine Warnmeldung erh\344ltst, sobald die Luftqualit\344t gesundheitsgef\344hrdend ist.
