Verbraucherzentrale NRW mahnt Telekom ab

Kommen wir auch heute wieder zu einer weiteren Meldung aus dem beliebten Bereich "Telekom-DSL-Drosselung". So berichtet aktuell der Focus das, was auch ich in meinem Kommentar zu dem Thema bereits vermutet habe. Nicht nur das ohnehin auch Bestandskunden künftig mit ins Drossel-Boot geholt werden, auch Tarifwechsler werden von der Telekom "als Neukunden behandelt" wie das Unternemnen dem Magazin gegenüber bestätigte. Dies gilt auch dann, wenn man innerhalb der DSL-Tarife der Telekom wechselt. Immerhin kommt nun aber auch ein bisschen Bewegung in die Geschichte. So hat die Verbraucherzentrale Nordrhein-Westfalen die Telekom inzwischen wegen der Drosselungs-Pläne abgemahnt. In der auf der Webseite der Verbraucherzentrale nachzulesenden Begründung heißt es: "Die verbleibende Übertragungsrate von 384 KBit/s macht eine zeitgemäße Nutzung des Internets unmöglich." Und weiter: "Dies bedeutet beispielsweise für VDSL-Kunden ("bis zu 50 MBit/s") eine satte Reduzierung der Surfgeschwindigkeit um bis zu 99,2 Prozent – und das im Rahmen einer "Internet-Flatrate"."

Ob die Abmahnung Erfolg hat, ist sicherlich zweifelhaft. Aber immerhin muss sich die Telekom nun bewegen. Sollte sie sich nicht in Form einer Unterlassungserklärung bis zum 16. Mai dazu bereit erklären, die geplante Drosselung doch noch abzublasen, muss ein Gericht entscheiden, ob die Drosselung im von der Telekom geplanten Maß zulässig ist.

Das gleiche ist beim Mobilfunk der Fall. Seltsam, dass die Provider dafür noch nicht abgemahnt wurden. Da wird auch mal gut und gern von 14,4 Mbit/s auf 0,06 Mbit/s gedrosselt. Locker um 99,6%...

Meine Schwester lebt auch auf dem Land und hat noch nicht einmal DSL. In dem Dorf gibt es prinzipiell ISDN aber alle Ports sind schon belegt und die Telekom will die Kapazitäten dort nicht erhöhen. Meine Schwester kriegt ISDN, sobald jemand anderes in dem Dorf sein ISDN abgibt. Bis dahin hat sie nur analoges Telefon. Via Handy kriegt sie auch nur GPRS. Kein Edge, kein 3G oder sonst was.

Die geplante DSL Drosselung zeigt mir, dass es die richtige Entscheidung war. Vermutlich kommt das auch bei anderen Anbietern und die Telekom macht nur den ersten Schritt, aber das ist dann ein anderes Thema. Ich werde in Zukunft mein Geld einem anderen Anbieter in den Rachen werfen.

Bei mir ist lediglich ISDN verfügbar. Allerdings surfe ich über einen UMTS Stick. Da das Dorf aber in einem Loch liegt ist hier lediglich E mit einer Stärke -107db verfügbar. Das bringt dann etwa eine Downloadrate von 80-120kbits. Satellit ist mir einfach zu teuer mit anständigem Volumen pro Monat. Wäre aber imo die einzige Alternative.
