From Hero to Zero... Es ist noch gar nicht so lange her, da war Facebook der am hellsten strahlende Stern im Silicon Valley. Diese Zeiten haben sich jedoch komplett gewandelt. Wie jedes Jahr hat Yahoo! Finance auch in 2021 wieder sowohl eine "Company of the Year", als auch eine "Worst Company of the Year" gekürt, wobei letztere von den Nutzern gewählt wird. Heraus kam dabei, dass Meta genau diesen Titel in diesem Jahr "gewonnen" hat. Daran änderte auch die Umbennung der Konzernmutter von Facebook in Meta nichts. Während die 8% Stimmen, die auf Meta entfielen erstmal nach wenig klingen, waren es dennoch 50% mehr Stimmen als der chinesische E-Commerce Gigant Alibaba auf Rang 2 der unbeliebtesten Unternehmen.

Einer der Hauptgründe für den Erhalt des Preises, den niemand haben möchte, sind die Auswirkungen, die Meta mit samt seinen Tochterunternehmen Facebook, Instagram und WhatsApp auf Kinder und Jugendliche hat.
